‘The nurture, care and devotion of staff within the motto of ‘Together, everyone achieves more’ fosters strong relationships across the school.’ SIAMS March 2020

A warm welcome is waiting for you and your child at Compton CE Primary School.  We are very proud of our Church of England primary school which was rated good by SIAMS in March 2020 and outstanding in our most recent OFSTED inspection. Our SIAMS inspector said “The school’s Christian vision, how Jesus grew and became strong in spirit and filled with wisdom, is clearly embraced as a positive and inspiring phrase by all within the school community. Parents remark on the increasing levels of confidence and friendliness shown by pupils as they progress through the school. Pupils who join the school soon feel they belong.”

At Compton CE Primary school, we value our place in our local community and maintain an open door policy to work in partnership with our families.  Every child at Compton CE Primary School is treated as an individual: enjoyment, challenge and learning are at the heart of everything we do. Our pupils want to come to school.

At the heart of our school ethos is our Compton WAGL (What’s a good learner), a set of learning behaviours linked to our core Christian values. Our pupils speak clearly about the learning behaviours in Compton’s WAGL and how they know these help them to learn. There is secure academic progress for all pupils at Compton, including those with special needs. Our WAGL supports our pupils to have high expectations of themselves and develop skills which will prepare them educationally, morally and socially for the next step in their journeys, ready to play their role in the future which awaits them.

In November 2016, we were extremely proud to be one of only 100 schools to achieve reaccreditation of the prestigious NACE challenge award.   During her visit, the assessor said, “Compton is a very good school that strives to meet the needs of more able pupils within a culture of challenge for all. The ethos of the school is focused on learning and achievement driven by high expectations, supported by a wide and varied curriculum.  As a learning community it continually seeks and welcomes improvement in an environment where everyone is a learner.”

We hope our website gives you an insight into life in our school.  If you would like to know more or would like to visit, we would be delighted to show you around.  Please contact the school office to make an appointment.  We  look forward to meeting you.
